<Fockea edulis care>
- It’s also known as Hottentot bread, is a caudiciform succulent native to South Africa and Namibia, valued for its swollen caudex and trailing vines.
- It thrives in bright, indirect sunlight but tolerates some direct morning or late afternoon sun; outdoors, partial shade is ideal.
- Water deeply during the growing season (spring and summer), allowing the soil to dry completely between waterings, and reduce or stop watering during dormancy (fall and winter) to prevent rot.
- Use a well-draining cactus or succulent mix and keep it in warm temperatures between 65–85°F (18–29°C), avoiding frost. Fertilize sparingly with a diluted cactus fertilizer during active growth and provide a trellis for the vines if needed.
- Repot every 2-3 years or when the caudex outgrows its pot
